Herb & Margaret Dimock

Herb and Margaret then

Through the decades, the Dimocks pursued social work and ministry to parishes in Berkeley, Antioch and Seattle, and then in a Skid Road agency and a professorship at the University of Puget Sound.

For twenty years they developed a small farm and served community organizations in the Grass Valley/ Nevada City, California world, as well as plunging into drama and writing careers.

They have four children, twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.

Their educational degrees are from the University of California and the Pacific School of Religion.

Herb and Margaret have taken on America's # 1 family problem, the ending in divorce of one out of every two marriages. A younger generation has become so skeptical about marriage that many have chosen simply "to live together."

As writers, the Dimocks began with "Golden Marriage" to tell the story of their first fifty years. They took turns with alternating chapters, to tell the "secrets" of how they discovered the long term challenge of loving.

Herb's novel "Beyond The Marry-Go-Round" deals with the changes needed before marriage and family can be rescued. He pictures a shift from our self-conscious illusion of separateness to the awakening of a new species of humanity that knows its connectedness to all of Creation, to the larger Family.

His two books about Jesus' life spell out the spiritual dimensions of marriage and family. "Yeshua" (Jesus' original Aramaic name) tells of his boyhood and young manhood. "Yeshua and the Intimate God" shows a very realistic male-female relationship that Jesus has with Sarah (Mary of Magdala); how, together, they lead friends toward the new reality of world-wide Family.

"Pilgrim Through a Century" is Margaret's biography of her father, Ralph Waddell. In it, she illustrates how her parents gave faithful support to each other throughout their married life. In two books of poetry she opens new doors. "Lord, Behold Our Family" is a group of sonnets based on a prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson. And "Let The Light Shine" is a collection of "Poetry from the Heart over Eight Decades," showing the love that can hold the Family of Planet Earth together.

Herb and Margaret have organized Eddy Publishing to spread the news of great hope for the love-based marriage tie, and relationships that lead toward Peace on Earth. More about Herb and Margaret.
